They don't do it - how can they fix it? |
The whole golf ball thing
The truth is that we can only fix this by understanding one thing. Nothing happens by itself.
Every golf ball in the whole world could stand up tomorrow (if they had legs) and say that golf was a cruel sport and it should stop. Until the golfers agreed to put away the golf clubs and stop doing it, though, Tiger Woods and the rest of the world would keep on playing right through. Why? Because the golfers need to know what they’re doing. They’re the only ones who can stop it. Golf doesn’t just happen- golfers do it.
Okay that was a shitty example, and I’ve really got no issues with golf (except that it’s not a real sport), but the point is still true. When someone tells you it something just happened or that it was an accident, what they’re really saying is “I’m not man enough to accept the responsibility for what I do”.
If we can’t control ourselves, is there anything in the world we can ever hope to do right?
